Getting there
Loop 101. Exit Cardinals Way from the south or Glendale Avenue from the north. About 30 minutes from Sky Harbor.
General lots (blue): Glendale Avenue, Cardinals Way, 91st, or 99th. Preferred lots (red): Maryland and 95th only. Search “Red Lot - State Farm Stadium” in Waze or the generic pin will send you to a gate that turns you away.
Black Lot, south of the stadium: day-of parking and rideshare drop-off and pickup.
Lots open four hours before kick. Tailgating ends at kickoff. Parking is cashless. Buy a permit before you go. Official map: statefarmstadium.com/directions-parking.
Westgate is north of the stadium. Walk from there if you want to eat first. Event-day Westgate lots are paid from four hours before kick.
Light rail does not reach Glendale. From downtown: light rail to Desert Sky Transit Center (79th and McDowell), then the home-game shuttle. Valley Metro Route 70 on Glendale Avenue stops near 95th.
Inside
Gates open two hours before kick. Mobile tickets. NFL clear-bag rule. No re-entry. Cashless.
Ownership
The Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority owns the building. Legends Global runs it through July 1, 2031. Craft Culinary Concepts, a Cardinals company, holds concessions through March 31, 2030. The Bidwill family owns the team. They are the tenant.
How it was paid for
Maricopa County passed Proposition 302 on November 7, 2000. That created AZSTA and a 1 percent hotel bed tax plus a car-rental surcharge of 3.25 percent or $2.50, whichever is larger. Those tourism taxes still service the stadium bonds, tourism promotion, Cactus League parks, and youth sports.

The building
Groundbreaking April 12, 2003. Opened August 1, 2006. Eisenman Architects and HOK Sport, now Populous. The shell is modeled on a barrel cactus. First retractable roof built on an incline. Translucent Bird-Air fabric. Opens in about 12 minutes.
First fully retractable natural-grass tray in the United States. Tifway 419 Bermuda. The tray rolls out of the bowl so the floor can host other events without killing the turf. Cardinals left Sun Devil Stadium after 2005.
Named Cardinals Stadium at opening, University of Phoenix Stadium 2006–2018, State Farm Stadium from September 4, 2018 on an 18-year deal.
